CEI SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER
Location: FDOT D7
Requirements:- A Civil Engineering degree plus registration by the Florida State Board of Engineers Examiners as a Professional Engineer (or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in Florida within six months)
- Six (6) years of engineering experience (two (2) years of which are in major road and bridge construction), or for non-degreed personnel the aforementioned registration and ten (10) years of engineering experience (two (2) years of which are in major road or bridge construction.
- Direct a highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program.
- Plan and organize the work of subordinate and staff members.
- Develop and/or review policies, methods, practices, and procedures; and review programs for conformance with DEPARTMENT standards.

CEI CONTRACT SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Location: FDOT D7
Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent
- Four (4) years of road and bridge construction engineering inspection (CEI) experience having performed/assisted in the following project-related duties: CQR, progress and final estimates, EEO compliance, Supplemental Agreement/Amendment processing, etc.
- Or a Civil Engineering degree and completion of the Final Estimates CTQP Level II.
- Should exercise independent judgment in planning work details and making technical decisions related to the office aspects of the project and accept general supervision and verbal instructions from Project Resident Engineer.
- Experience with MAC required. Experience in CQR progress and final estimates, EEO compliance, processing Construction Contract changes
- Should be familiar with the Department’s Procedures covering project-related duties as stated above and be proficient in the computer programs necessary to perform these duties.
- Shall become trained in Multi-Line, Engineering Menu
- Complete the State’s Final Estimate Self Study course and attend the Final Estimate Preparation Seminar for Constant CEIs or the District-Specific Final Estimate Preparation Seminar.

CEI INSPECTOR

Requirements:- High School diploma or 2+ years or work experience in either bridge way or roadway construction inspection
- Or a Civil Engineering degree with the ability to earn additional required qualifications within one year. (Note: Engineer Intern classification requires E.I.T. certificate.)
- The duties of this position include monitoring the contractor’s on site construction activities and inspecting materials entering into the work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and special provisions for the construction contract.
- Maintain detailed records of the contractor’s daily operations and events that affect the work, monitoring and inspecting contractor’s work zone traffic control plan as well as reviewing modifications to the plan.

Requirements:- High school graduate or equivalent with one (1) year of experience or two (2) years assisting the compliance officer in monitoring the project. Should have prior experience in both state funded and Federal Aid funded construction projects with FDOT and knowledge of EEO/AA laws and FDOT’s DBE and OJT programs.

CEI SECRETARY/CLERK TYPIST
Location: FDOT D7
Requirements:- High school graduate or equivalent with two (2) years of secretarial and/or clerical experience. Ability to type at a rate of 35 correct words per minute. Experienced in the use of standard work processing software.
- Should exercise independent initiative to help relieve the supervisor of clerical detail. Works under general supervision of the Project Engineer and their staff.
